VERZORGING 🐕🦮🐕

Goede verzorging van een (geadopteerde) hond draait om een combinatie van gezondheid, veiligheid, structuur en aandacht. Zeker bij honden uit het buitenland is geduld en begeleiding extra belangrijk.

Basisverzorging.

Zorg altijd voor vers drinkwater en kwalitatief goed hondenvoer, afgestemd op leeftijd, grootte en activiteit.

🩺 Gezondheid Laat je hond regelmatig controleren door een dierenarts voor vaccinaties, ontworming en algemene check-ups. Let op signalen van stress of ziekte, vooral in de eerste periode na adoptie.

🚶 Beweging en mentale stimulatie Dagelijkse wandelingen zijn essentieel, maar ook spelen en denkspelletjes helpen om je hond mentaal uit te dagen. Dit voorkomt verveling en probleemgedrag.

🛁 Vacht en hygiëne.

Borstel de vacht regelmatig (afhankelijk van het type vacht) en controleer op teken of vuil. Baden hoeft alleen wanneer nodig. Vergeet ook nagels, oren en gebit niet.

🏡 Veiligheid en rust Geef je hond een eigen rustige plek in huis waar hij zich kan terugtrekken. Zorg voor een veilige omgeving, zeker in het begin wanneer alles nog nieuw is.

❤️ Geduld en training Veel honden uit asielen ( net als alle honden ) hebben tijd nodig om te wennen.

Werk met positieve training en beloningen, en bouw vertrouwen stap voor stap op. Straf werkt averechts.

Negeer eventueel ongewenst gedrag en beloon gewensd gedrag uitbundig.

Basic care
Always provide fresh drinking water and high-quality dog food, tailored to your dog’s age, size, and activity level.
Stick to a consistent feeding schedule and avoid overfeeding.
🩺 Health
Have your dog checked regularly by a veterinarian for vaccinations, deworming, and general check-ups. Watch for signs of stress or illness, especially during the first period after adoption.
🚶 Exercise and mental stimulation
Daily walks are essential, but playtime and puzzle games also help keep your dog mentally stimulated. This prevents boredom and unwanted behavior.
🛁 Coat and hygiene
Brush the coat regularly (depending on coat type) and check for ticks or dirt. Bathing is only necessary when needed. Don’t forget nails, ears, and dental care.
🏡 Safety and rest
Give your dog a quiet, dedicated space at home where they can retreat. Ensure a safe environment, especially in the beginning when everything is still new.
